A cockroach made a surprise appearance at Met Gala 2023 carpet

Unfortunately, its Met Gala moment didn't last long.

Rihanna may have closed the style spectacle that happened on the ivory-colored carpet of Met Gala 2023, but it was a surprise and unusual guest that left a lasting mark on many netizens. On May 1, the Metropolitan Museum in New York opened its doors as it hosted the annual Costume Institute Benefit (Met Gala), with the theme “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” While stars and fashion elites gave their best pose wearing their best interpretation of the theme for the camera, what almost stole the event's spotlight is a cockroach scurrying up the stairs of the museum.

The now-viral clip shared by American media company Variety presented photographers trying to snap a photo of the uninvited guest. Lensmen Kevin Mazur also shared his image of the cockroach having its moment at the steps of the Met. Unfortunately, the insect's Met Gala experience didn't last long as it was stepped on.
