The Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) on Friday, May 19 announced the resumption of its Covid-19 testing services.

RITM, a facility tasked to undertake research activities in the diagnosis, control and prevention of infectious and tropical diseases in the Philippines, recommenced its processing of Covid-19 samples through SARS-COV-2 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction. “Muli nang ipinagpapatuloy ng RITM ang pagproseso ng mga sample ng Covid-19 at ang pagtanggap ng specimen para sa Covid-19 (RITM once again is resuming the processing of Covid-19 samples as well as the receiving of specimens for Covid-19),” said RITM in an advisory. “Ang RITM Online Appointment portal ay maaari nang ma-access ng mga pasyente ngayong araw (The RITM Online Appointment portal can now be accessed by patients today),” it added. The Department of Health (DOH), in a separate statement on Friday, also confirmed the resumption of the institute’s services, saying that its Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau has issued the License to Operate to RITM. RITM on Thursday, May 18, announced that it will temporarily stop its testing services, but it assured the public that they will continue to provide excellent service to protect and ensure the health of the general public.
