Malabon LGU announces closure of several roads for ‘Indakan Festival’


The local government of Malabon City announced the closure of several roads in the city for the “Indakan Festival” on Saturday, May 20.

Indakan Festival is the city’s annual street dance competition in line with the 424th Malabon Founding Anniversary.

There will be 11 groups that will perform and represent the city barangays with this year’s theme: “Mula Tambobong Hanggang Malabon.”

The city government said General Luna Avenue will be closed from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. for the parade and street dance competition.

For motorists traveling from Governor Pascual to Hulo and Dampalit, they are advised to take alternate routes at A. Reyes St. to Muzon and Damzon.

Vehicles coming from Tonsuya can take Sanciangco St. and turn left to Governor Pascual going to A. Reyes St.

Meanwhile, F. Sevilla road will also be closed starting at 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. to avoid traffic in welcoming the guests for the second part of the program which will be the dance competition showdown at the Malabon Sports Center.

The guests include City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, Vice President  Sara Duterte, Malabon Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Head Roderick Tongol, and public school students in the city.
