Senator Bong Revilla has reclaimed his old position as Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) chairman, a Facebook post from his wife, Cavite 2nd district Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla, revealed on late Friday night, May 19.

According to Rep. Mercado-Revilla's upload, the party's executive committee held a meeting Friday night and "discussed several issues". She also posted a picture of those who participated in the meeting.

Senator Revilla filled up the position vacated by Vice President Sara Duterte, who announced her resignation from the party Friday morning.

Incidentally, it was the actor-senator who stepped aside to give the Lakas-CMD chairperson title to then-Davao City Mayor Duterte when she first joined the party in November 2021.

"Sa pamamagitan ng isang resolution, pinahalagahan ng Lakas CMD ang panahon na iginugol ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa partido (Through a resolution, the Lakas-CMD recognized the time Vice President Sara Duterte spent with the party)," Rep. Mercado-Revilla wrote.

"Samantala, patuloy ang pledge of support na ipinaabot sa pamunuan ni Speaker Martin Romualdez, nangunguna na dito si President [Ferdinand] Bongbong Marcos [Jr.] (Meanwhile, the leadership of Speaker Martin Romualdez continues to send its pledge of support, foremost to President Bongbong Marcos)," she added.

Romualdez, who represents Leyte's 1st district, is Lakas-CMD president.
