Robi Domingo, Bianca Gonzalez wax nostalgic learning of partial demolition of 'PBB' house
"A part of the house may be gone but whatever happens, you'll always be our home."
This is what seasoned TV host Robi Domingo wrote on Instagram as he shared on social media a picture of him in front of the "Pinoy Big Brother (PBB)" house.
There's also a photo of him and co-host Bianca Gonzalez posing along the "half of PBB," which would be demolished soon.
On her social media account, Bianca wrote, "When we found out that half of the PBB House would be demolished soon, we HAD to visit," noting how "too many memories" happened on that side of the house. "From the hallways that saw our highest highs and our lowest lows (if those walls could talk!!!), from our small studio inside where we did hundreds of spiels (and blunders), to the balcony tambayan when things got too heated (or it was too cold) inside, to this not so secret door where fans of the housemates patiently waited for hours," she related, deeming it as "good times and unforgettable memories."
Prior, director Lauren Dyogi announced the news. "This afternoon, May 13,2023 I was able to visit the Pinoy Big Brother House because @raymdizon informed me that we will start the demolition of one half of the PBB House which we built at the start of Pinoy Dream Academy about 17 years ago, in 2006," he shared. According to him, after two seasons of "Pinoy Dream Academy," the place became their "House B," which had their offices, brainstorm space, pantry, hosts’ dressing rooms, mini studio with control room, and living quarters, especially during the last two “lock-in seasons.” "This part of the house has lots of good memories and even scary experiences," he related. But they needed to give up the said part of the house as their lease has expired and it is "impractical" to renew it. "We still have the main PBB house and control room which hopefully we still get to use for the next PBB edition. This original house was built in 2004 and is 18 years old. It has become iconic and a landmark in the area," he said. "Thank you everyone from our staff, crew, hosts, and exhousemates and all supporters who are all part of this rich history of PBB and of Pinoy pop culture. Special thanks to Ms. Linggit Tan for starting it all:) Salamat ng marami lola LT:)" He capped off his post, declaring: "It’s an end of an era but hopefully we move on and find a better home in the future!"
