Palace names new Marcos appointees to DOE, DMW, other agencies

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has appointed Rolando Macasaet as the new president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Social Security System (SSS), the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced on Thursday, May 18. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. (Photo from the Presidential Communications Office) Macasaet was the president and general manager of state-run pension fund for government employees Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) for four years during the Duterte administration. From 1988 to 2005, Macasaet held various positions in government-owned and -controlled corporations. Previously, he worked at the Philippine National Bank and served as a board member of San Miguel Corp., Bank of Commerce, and Private Infrastructure and Development Corp., among others. In a Facebook post, the PCO said President Marcos likewise appointed Sharon Garin and Alessandro Sales as undersecretaries of the Department of Energy (DOE). The PCO also listed the following officials as new Marcos appointees:
