Man lands in jail after stealing motorcycle in Pasig City
A man who was caught in the act of stealing a motorcycle was arrested by the police on Wednesday, May 17, in Barangay Kalawaan, Pasig City.
Pasig City Police Station (CPS) Chief Col. Celerino Sacro Jr. identified the suspect as "Rico," 30, a resident of Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.
Based on the initial investigation, the complainant, a 34-year old businessman, received an alarm on his mobile phone on an unidentified person who entered his residence along Cueva Street in Barangay Kalawaan at around 1:05 a.m.
He parked his motorcycle unattended in front of his house to verify the alarm. Shortly after, he claimed he saw the suspect take his motorcycle.
The complainant shouted and sought the assistance of officers from the San Joaquin Police Sub-Station (SS4) and members of the Barangay Kalawaan Security Force who were patrolling the area, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
Police recovered the motorcycle as well as a plastic sachet containing 0.20 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P1,360 from the suspect.
The suspect is facing charges for violations of Republic Act (RA) No. 10883 or the "New Anti-Carnapping Law of 2016," and RA No. 9165 or the "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002."
