The FiberXers announced the development Wednesday, May 17, as Salud relinquished his post in the team’s basketball operations as part of the company’s reorganization.

“As relayed to the PBA Board of Governors, Atty. Angelico "Chito" Salud has stepped down as Alternate Governor of the Converge FiberXers and will no longer be connected to the basketball team effective immediately,” said Converge in a statement.

“The Converge Management wishes to thank Atty. Salud for his guidance and leadership that allowed Converge to successfully enter the PBA,” it added.

Salud will now be part of the company as the head of the development of the Comclark Tech City project in Pampanga and will serve as a Consultant on Special Projects.

Converge has yet to name a replacement to Salud after the PBA board rejected the FiberXers appointment of Pampanga governor Delta Pineda as the team’s representative last week due to his affiliation to politics.

Team owner Dennis Uy has since then appealed to the PBA board to revisit its rules and reconsider the appointment of Pineda as the team governor.
