Rhuigi Villaseñor steps down as creative director at Bally
The Manila-born fashion designer has been with the Swiss luxury brand for over a year.

Manila-born, California-based fashion designer Rhuigi Villaseñor is leaving Bally after becoming its creative director in 2022. According to reports, JAB Holding Company, the firm behind the Swiss luxury label, and the Filipino designer have come to a “joint and mutual decision” to end their collaboration.

“My experience at Bally has been an incredible honor,” Rhuigi said. “I wish the brand nothing but the best in all its future endeavors and look forward to enjoying its next creative chapter.” Throughout his time with the brand, Rhuigi has produced two runway shows. His debut collection dubbed “[ecdysis](https://mb.com.ph/2022/09/26/fil-am-designer-rhuigi-villasenor-presents-debut-collection-for-bally/),” presented in September 2022, marked the brand’s return to the runway after 20 years. While his second collection, “Persistence of Time,” was presented earlier this year. “I would like to thank Rhuigi for all his creative contributions during his time at Bally. His passion, energy, and creativity have helped propel Bally into the spotlight, further rejuvenating the brand's 170-year heritage through a modern and glamorous vision,” Bally’s CEO, Nicolas Girotto, said. “I wish him all the best for the next chapter of his creative journey.” Apart from his leadership at Bally, Rhuigi is also known in the fashion circle as the founder of the streetwear label Rhude. Bally has yet to announce who will be its next creative director.
