Heart Evangelista on the perks of being a fashion influencer

Heart Evangelista is known prior mainly as your run-of-the-mill artista.

That is, until she reinvented herself as a so-called fashion influencer.

Now, she is global, hobnobbing with some of the industry’s more influential names including Christian Louboutin, Anna Wintour.

She is proud of what she has achieved, telling Boy Abunda, “May narating ang kaartehan ko.”

But is she earning huge just like when she was doing teleseryes left and right?

She actually does.

And more.

And she doesn’t even have to spend hours and hours waiting like being on a movie set.

According to Heart, as influencer she earns "per post.”

But what she makes varies as to what type of posting she did “If IG reel lang ba, if (regular) posting lang ba, (or) may YouTube...”

“Milyones ito?" Boy asked.

"Can be," Heart replied.

And it is as artistically rewarding as playing a TV or movie role.

Said Heart, "I look at it as (like playing) a character. Basically, you work with different brands and they also tap you to promote the latest bags, shoes. It depends with your rank. If you are just for social media or they invite you to (actually appear at) shows. If you're in front row, if you could be a client, like a couture client and an influencer and an actress at the same time, even better.”

As to some people scoffing at the idea as mere “kaartehan,” Heart insisted, "It’s a career and it’s profitable.”

Beyond that, it is also “empowering."

For Heart, it is all about living life the way she wants to.

Being real, aunthentic.

She said, "As a voice or influencer, that’s something that I stand for, which is authenticity. When I collaborate with the designer, it’s not just isusuot (ko) yung damit. You have to speak with the outfit, with your own words.”
