CAMP OLA, Albay – The Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Bicol arrested nine drug suspects and dismantled a drug den during a buy-bust operation in Ocampo town, Camarines Sur province on Monday night, May 15.
Police Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office-5 spokesperson, identified the suspects as Jay Odiame, 44, drug den maintainer; Angie Niebres, 38; Aina Barranda, 36; Justin Albert Amaro, 30, residents of Barangay Hibago; Zaldy Mangubat, 50, of Barangay Lidong, and Albino Codillo, 50, of Barangay Pinit, all from Ocampo; Maria Anjanette Bobis, 28, a resident of Barangay San Juan, Pili, Camarines Sur; Edmer Ayao, 36, a “habal-habal” driver and a resident of Barangay San Jose, Goa, Camarines Sur, and Renalyn Brusalo, 30, a resident of Antipolo City, Rizal.
Calubaquib said that the PDEA-Camarines Sur, lead unit; PDEA-Naga City office; Ocampo MPS and PIU, and Camarines Sur PPO conducted the operation against Odiame in Barangay Hibago at around 10 p.m.
Eight persons were found in the drug den and taken into custody.
Confiscated from the suspects were five heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 10 grams with an estimated market value of P68,000.
Authorities also seized drug paraphernalia, weighing scale, and other personal items.
Suspects and confiscated items are now under the custody of the PDEA-Camarines Sur for proper disposition.
