ILOILO CITY – A total of 99,755 tourists visited world-famous Boracay Island in Malay town, Aklan province from May 1 to 15.

Similar to previous months, domestic tourists comprised the bulk of arrivals with 79,820. There were 18,543 foreign and 1,392 Overseas Filipino Workers who came to Boracay during the first 15 days of this month. Most of them booked for the weekend of April 29 and stayed behind for Labor Day Boracay activities rebranded as “Love Boracay” in which partying and other activities in various venues on the island were held. This year’s Love Boracay, spearheaded by the local government of Malay, focused more on advocating tourism sustainability, wellness, and the arts.
