The Taguig City government evacuated 23 families after a landslide occurred in Barangay Western Bicutan on July 27.
It said the landslide caused a perimeter wall to collapse, possibly brought about by heavy rains due to typhoon “Egay.”

No one was hurt from the families living around the area of the landslide. However, an injured dog died. The families are temporarily staying at Nabua covered court in Western Bicutan.
Authorities responding to the incident were the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), Local Utility Office (LUO), Traffic Management Office (TMO), Public Order and Safety Office (POSO), City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), Barangay Western Bicutan, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Due to the accident, “the bike lane and the outermost lane of C5 Road northbound, from SLEX down ramp to Sitio Maliwanag (near Centennial Village), have been closed. The closure will be in effect until necessary repairs and reinforcements are made,” the city government stated in an advisory.
An assessment is being done by engineers of the city government together with the DPWH and the Metro Parkway Clearing Group of the MMDA to reinforce the wall that collapsed and clear the area of debris.
