Young man wanted for alleged slay of three persons in Negros city arrested

BACOLOD CITY – Policemen arrested a young man wanted for three counts of murder in Purok Kabulakan, Barangay Zone 10, Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Friday, May 12. Arrested was Ivan Tribaco, 26, of Barangay Zone 10. He is the No. 1 most wanted person in Western Visayas, No. 8 on the provincial level, and No. 6 on the city level, according to the police. Police Capt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental police, said on Tuesday, May 16, that the suspect was tagged in the killing of a mother and her two sons in Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City last March. The 50-year-old mother and her 20-year-old son were shot by unidentified perpetrators on their way home on March 28. The mother’s eight-year-old son was wounded in the gun attack, but later died in a hospital, according to Catalogo. The arrest warrant with no bail recommended was issued on May 8 by acting Presiding Judge Maria Lina Palencia Gonzaga of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 42 here. Prior to his apprehension, the suspect, through his social media account, denied any involvement in the incident.
