P13.6-M shabu seized, 133 drug suspects nabbed in Central Visayas
CEBU CITY — More than two kilos of suspected shabu valued at P13.6 million were seized in different areas in Central Visayas during a region-wide police operation on Saturday, May 13, the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) announced.
Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, regional director of PRO-7, said at least 133 drug personalities were arrested during the simultaneous anti-criminality operations.
“This one-day operational strategy resulted in significant reduction of supply of illegal drugs in Central Visayas,” said Aberin.
The series of police operations was in compliance with the “Buhay ay Ingatan, Droga ay Ayawan" program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Aberin added.
Aberin said that 163 persons were also arrested for illegal gambling.
In the campaign against loose firearms, 120 unlicensed guns and three explosives were confiscated while 14 persons were nabbed.
Twenty-two most wanted persons and 138 other wanted persons were apprehended during the implementation of arrest warrants, added Aberin.
“I commend the men and women of PRO-7 for enforcing aggressive anti-criminality operations in the region,” Aberin said.
