He will guide you to all truth

When he comes, the Spirit of truth will reveal to the disciples “the things that are coming” (v 13)—not new revelations but the “new order of things” that will come with Jesus’ death and resurrection. The mystery of God has already been revealed by Jesus. The Holy Spirit will interpret what has been revealed by Jesus and in Jesus, especially in the light of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. He will confirm especially Jesus’ relationship with the Father, i.e., that indeed Jesus is God’s Son.
The Holy Spirit will also confirm Jesus’ declaration that we are likewise children of God (Jn 20:17). St. Paul declares, “As proof that you are children, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying out, ‘Abba, Father!’ ” (Gal 4:6).

Jesus said to his disciples: “I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.
