LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A 33-year-old employee of a multinational conglomerate was shot dead on his way to work on Tuesday morning, May 16, in Barangay Isabang, this city.
Police identified the victim as Charles Moises Vidal, a resident of Barangay Ilayang Talim, here.
Investigator-on-case Police Senior Master Sgt. Wilbar Schramn Apoli said Vidal was driving his motorcycle on his way to work to the San Miguel Corp. (SMC) warehouse at around 6:30 a.m. when a man on board a motorcycle caught up with him and shot him in the head, killing him on the spot.
The suspect fled towards an unknown direction.
Police recovered from the crime scene four spent shells for a gun of unknown caliber.
Investigation to identify the suspect and the motive of the killing is under way. Police have requested a dragnet operation with nearby police stations for the apprehension of the suspect.
Four shooting incidents have been recorded in two weeks here in which four persons were killed and two were wounded. All cases are still under investigation.
