Drunken robber climbs up bridge in Negros town

BACOLOD CITY – A drunken man climbed a bridge after he allegedly robbed two lending collectors in Barangay Caliban, Murcia, Negros Occidental on Sunday, May 14.

(Photo courtesy of Murcia Municipal Fire Station) Murcia police chief Police Major Joeil Reclamado said the two victims were riding a motorcycle when they were approached by Fernando Camporaso Jr. and allegedly threatened them with an improvised fishing bow before declaring a holdup. The suspect managed to divest the two victims of about P7,800 collection money. Reclamado said the suspect then left the stolen cash on the ground and climbed up the bridge for an unknown reason. He undressed himself while law enforcers and rescuers negotiated with him to surrender. However, he refused. Reclamado said they waited for more than an hour for the suspect to go down from the bridge and arrested him. Charges of robbery-hold-up were already filed against the suspect, according to Reclamado.
