Aespa's 'My World' sells 1.69 M copies to become highest first-week sales for female artists

K-pop girl group Aespa broke another record with their new album “My World.”  Aespa released “My World” on May 8 and according to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, it sold 1,698,784 copies in the first week of release (May 8 to 14).  Aespa (Twitter) 
This set a new record for the highest first-week album sales among female artists based on Hanteo Chart’s data.  This eclipsed BLACKPINK’s record achieved through the album “Born Pink,” which sold 1,542,950 copies in the first week of release last year.  Last week, Aespa broke the record for the highest first-day sales among female artists when it sold  1,372,929 copies on the first day of release on May 8.  According to Hanteo Chart, Aespa’s “My World” sold 1,372,929 copies on May 8, followed by 79,504 copies on May 9; 5,359 copies on May 10; 1,963 copies on May 11; 107,580 copies on May 12; 1,980 copies on May 13; and 129,469 copies on May 14. “My World” is Aespa’s second album to sell at least a million copies after “Girls,” which had 1,126,069 copies in sales in the first week based on Hanteo Chart data.  With 1.69 million copies sold, “My World” topped Hanteo Chart’s weekly physical album chart from May 8 to 14.
