81 Cordillera cops finish basic internal security operations course


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Eighty-one police officers from the Police Regional Office-Cordillera have completed a Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) at Philex Mines, Barangay Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet, from March 15 to May 15.

Graduates received certificates of completion from Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., PRO-Cordillera chief, during the closing ceremony at the Masigasig Grandstand in Camp Major Bado Dangwa here on Monday, May 15.

Three members of the BISOC Cl-02-013-RCOR-2023-005  Sumikadan class were awarded Philippine National Police  medals and certificates of commendation for their outstanding performance during the course.

They were Police Patrolman Fred Norman Fang, who had a 90.86 percent rating; Patrolman Jaime Gumangan, 89.90 percent; and Patrolman Kelvin Kurt Agwilang, 89.66 percent.

Leadership awards were given to Fang, class president, and Police Corporal Denver Baliwag, class marcher.

Peredo also led the ceremonial handover of the BISOC badge and donning of the beret to the graduates who are now equipped with basic internal security operation skills.

He congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to apply what they have learned during the duration of the course.

Peredo reiterated the importance of enhancing PRO-Cordillera’s  capability through training and courses that will help in molding highly capable, trained, and disciplined police officers.
