Man, nephew drown in Cagayan River

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan â€“ A 39-year-old man and his nephew drowned in the Cagayan River in Barangay Centro 1 here on Saturday, May 13. The victims were identified as Michael and his nephew, an eight-year-old Grade 2 pupil. Police said the victims from Barangay Ugac Sur, this city, and their relatives went to the Cagayan River for a picnic at around 12 noon. The victims decided to swim but ended up in a deep part of the river and drowned. The incident was reported to the Tuguegrao City Rescue 1111. The remains of the boy were found on Saturday while his uncle's body was recovered the following day.
