If you say that all three women standing in front are breathtakingly lovely beauty queens, you're correct. But the woman standing rightmost is a congresswoman too. She is Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez, chairperson of the Committee on Accounts in the House of Representatives. In 1996, Romualdez, as Binibining Pilipinas-International, represented the Philippines in the Miss International beauty pageant held in Japan. She finished in the top 15. Romualdez has since transitioned to politics and is on her third and final term as Tingog Party-list representative. Tingog means "voice" in Bisaya. Standing leftmost is Shamcey Supsup-Lee,who was crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2011. She represented the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant in São Paulo, Brazil where she finished third runner-up. In the middle is American R'Bonney Gabriel, the reigning Miss Universe. She was crowned on Jan. 14, 2023, in New Orleans, United States. Romualdez served as chairperson of the Board of Judges in the recently concluded Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant. In her message, the lady solon congratulated each candidate, noting how far they had all gone in their quest to win the title. She also urged them to raise their voices in order to protect the vulnerable and speak up for those who are unable to do so. She is the wife of House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
