Student killed in motorcycle collision in Batangas

LIPA CITY, Batangas – A student died in a motorcycle collision on the Jose P. Laurel Highway on Sunday, May 14, in Barangay Tambo, this city. Police identified the victim as Jonathan Bautista of Barangay Nangkaan, Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas. Investigation said Bautista was driving a motorcycle with Joshua Alex Lumbera, 24, a call center agent and a resident of Barangay San Carlos here, also driving a motorcycle behind at 12:05 a.m. However, they lost control of their motorcycles when they reached a curved part of the road and collided with one another. Bautista was taken to the Lipa City District Hospital where he died due to severe injuries. Lumbera sustained minor injuries and is recovering in a hospital. Police said both parties willing to undergo amicable settlement.
