Municipal board member dies in horrific road crash in Isabela

CABATUAN, Isabela – A Sangguniang Bayan (municipal board) member of San Mateo, Isabela and a Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team member died while a barangay captain was injured in a road crash in Barangay Saranay here on Sunday, May 14. The Police Regional Office-2 identified the victims as  SB Michael Angelo Ramones and BPAT member Mario Acupan from San Mateo. Investigation said Ramones lost control of the Toyota Vios he was driving upon reaching a sharp curve and slammed into a concrete perimeter fence. Ramones and his two passengers sustained injuries and were taken to the Cabatuan Family Hospital. He and Acupan  were declared dead on arrival by the attending physician due to head injuries. Sonny Baysa, 49, barangay captain of Barangay Villa Ganito, San Mateo, was injured.
