Professor Clarita Carlos paid trubute to not just her mother, but also to her father, on the occasion of Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14. And it makes perfect sense, as she wrote in a Facebook post: "Everything I am today, I owe to my parents…" "To my Mother, with her infinite patience, coping with my ever volatile temper… "To my Father, whose unrelenting pursuit for excellence, will not be satisfied until my chest is covered with all the possible medals I could earn…," Carlos lovingly recalled. "Today is PARENT’S day for me… thank you, universe!" she said. As a treat to her Facebook followers, the former national security adviser shared an old photo of her and her parents during high school graduation many decades ago. Carlos, 76, is a retired professor of political science at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman. Carlos is currently House Speaker Martin Romualdez's chief policy adviser on security and defense concerns.
