Esports firm aims to be PH's number 1

Multi-gaming firm BREN Esports aims to be the country's leading eSports ecosystem, while at the same time, expanding its clout in Singapore. Revenue in the eSports market in the Philippines alone is projected to reach P398 million ($7.12 million) this 2023, according to BREN Esports. And the revenue is expected to show an annual growth rate (CAGR 2023-2027) of 12.19 percent, resulting in a projected market volume of $11.28 million by 2027. The largest market is Sponsorship & Advertising, with a projected market volume of $2.49 million this 2023. The number of eSports users is expected to grow to 8.83m users by 2027, with user penetration going up from 6.1 percent in 2023 to 7.4 percent by 2027. Currently, the Philippine esports market has over 43 million active gamers. This figure has steadily risen by 12.9 percent year-on-year since 2017. While the local esports ecosystem features a diverse set of mediums, such as first-person shooters (FPSs) or role-playing games (RPGs), Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games stand out as the most popular genre and the most downloaded mobile game. MOBA mobile game Mobile Legends peaked at 2.65 million active users daily and BREN Esports was the Mobile Legends world champion in 2021. So far, BREN ESports is the biggest and most successful team in the Philippines, the only locally-grown squad with a full-service training facility. Now, BREN Esports, has partnered with EMERGE Sports for its expansion in Singapore. On top of that, “We aim to be the leading eSports ecosystem in the Philippines with the principles of transparency and collaboration with partners who share the same vision to nurture the growth of esports locally and internationally,” announced Bernard Lu Chong, President and CEO of Bren Esports, Esports Arena(MeSA), BrenProTV and Next Talents, BrenPro, Inc. Currently, Bren Esports is also part of the first franchise league in the country, “The Nationals”. This features a traditional league format where franchise teams compete in four game titles that cater to different gaming communities (PC gaming, mobile gaming, console gaming, and a wildcard game). The league also aspires to be the main pool for national esports athletes competing in tournaments sanctioned by the SEA Games, Asian Games and the Olympics.
