The Department of the Interior and Local Government-National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that formalizes its participation to the Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) inter-agency linkage with the DILG-Region III, DILG-CALABARZON and DILG-MIMAROPA regional offices.
Officially known as the “Establishment of a Merger Roadmap and Guidelines for Empowered LGRRCs (EMERGE), the undertaking is envisioned as a vehicle to promote and foster collaboration among parties in the area of knowledge management.
“It will do so by conducting regular knowledge exchange activities and other joint undertakings that will advance public governance and administration,’’ the DILG-NCR noted.
Executive Director Thelma Vecina of the Local Government Academy (LGA) emphasized the important role of the Regional LGRRCs in the promotion of knowledge management and its role as the working principle of the DILG Local Government Academy.
Through EMERGE, the DILG-NCR stated that it will be able to leverage its resources, strengths and capacities to accelerate the implementation of DILG’s programs, projects, and activities through collective action and drive local governance to higher levels of creativity and innovation.
The MOU was signed by DILG-NCR Assistant Regional Director Ana Lyn R. Baltazar-Cortez, DILG MIMAROPA Assistant Regional Director Rey S. Maranan, DILG Region III Assistant Regional Director Jay E. Timbreza and DILG CALABARZON Provincial Director John M. Cerezo.
