Grade 11 student dead, one hurt in Ilocos Sur road accident

CAMP PRESIDENT QUIRINO, Ilocos Sur – A student died while one other was injured after the motorcycle they were riding  in fell into a drainage canal in Barangay Nalvo in Sta. Maria town, this province, on Friday, May 12. Police said that Mark Lawrence Canezo, 18, a Grade 11 student, the driver of a blue motorcycle, and a resident of Barangay Laslasong Norte, Sta. Maria, died upon reaching the hospital due to serious body injury. The injured rider was identified as Daniel Jeffrey Domingo, 19, also a student and resident of Barangay Laslasong Norte. Investigation disclosed that the eastbound motorcycle was negotiating a sharp curve portion of the road when the driver, who was reportedly under the influence of liquor, lost control of the motorcycle which fell into a concrete canal.
