BTS song ‘The Planet’ for animation series ‘Bastions’ tops iTunes in 67 countries 


Grammy-nominated K-pop group BTS’ new song has topped iTunes in 67 countries and territories. 

On May 12, the song “The Planet” was released as the original soundtrack (OST) for the Korean animation series “Bastions.”

This is the first song by BTS in 11 months since releasing the album “Proof” in June 2022. 

Following its release, “The Planet” topped iTunes in 67 countries and territories including the US, France, Philippines, Australia, Peru, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Chile, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. 

The song, which harmonizes the seven members of BTS with seven colors and refreshing vocals, has a cheerful bass and melody. 

“Bastions” is a 3D animation series that will premiere on the Korean TV channel SBS at 7:30 a.m. KST on May 14. It is also planned to be aired around the world. 

It tells the story of new superheroes who reveal the identity of a villain responsible for environmental destruction. They save the earth and grow into true heroes.
