70-year-old widower arrested for three counts of rape in Batangas
BATANGAS – A 70-year-old widower was arrested in Laurel town in this province on Thursday afternoon, May 11, for allegedly committing three counts of rape.
The Batangas police director, Col. Pedro Soliba, identified the accused as alias “Atong,” vendor and a resident of San Nicolas town.
The suspect was arrested on a warrant issued by the Family Court, Fourth Judicial Region, Branch 16, in Sariaya, Quezon on June 29, 2021.
The warrant of arrest was served by the joint operatives of Laurel Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Team-Batangas PPO, and 402nd Maneuver Company.
The accused is facing three counts of rape under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code. No bail was recommended by the court.
The accused was the No. 8 most wanted person on the regional level in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon). He is now under the custody of Laurel Municipal Police Station.
