CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office-13 will deploy 340 police officers to secure the Balangay Festival 2023 in Butuan City.
The Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) and graduates of the Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) shall ensure area and route security and provide police presence and assistance in major thoroughfares, vital installations, business establishments, and economic key points.
The PRO-13 Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Office will conduct paneling and inspection of all major places of events.
Force multipliers, other law enforcement agencies, Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams, and advocacy support groups have also been tapped to secure the Mutya Hong Butuan 2023, Balangay Float Parade, and other related activities.
The month-long festivities are expected to draw an influx of people from different places such as local and foreign tourists and VIPs.
Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) Director Police Col. Marco B. Archinue is the overall supervisor and commander of the security plan.
“We assure the people that we are ready to secure revelers who shall enjoy the festival in full throttle,” PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II said.
Labra said the success of this occasion lies in the partnership of the Philippine National Police, local government unit, other government and law enforcement agencies, community, and all stakeholders.
“Let us join forces for the same noble cause," Labra added.
