The National Privacy Commission (NPC) on Friday, May 12, was rattled by a bomb threat, forcing the agency to immediately intensify its security measures.

NPC Commissioner John Henry Naga, in a statement, said they urgently activated their emergency response procedures upon receiving a bomb threat on Friday to ensure the safety of their personnel. “We have already coordinated with the relevant authorities and will be working with them to ascertain the credibility and the origin of the threat,” said Naga on Friday, explaining that the threat, which says “Time bomb set on your building starts now,” was commented on NPC’s official Facebook page earlier today. Despite this bomb scare, NPC assured the public that they will continuously work towards protecting the privacy and rights of every Filipino. “We are taking this bomb threat very seriously [but] we will not be deterred by any acts or intimidation or threats,” Naga furthered.
