DAGUPAN CITY – The city government and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources have distributed livelihood assistance to 413 fisherfolk in coastal barangays here.
Mayor Belen Fernandez distributed bangus or milkfish fingerlings at the BFAR-Fish Health Laboratory here which was part of the
livelihood assistance from BFAR upon the request of the city chief executive, the City Information Office said.
Fish feeds and five collapsible fish cages were turned over to 25 fisherfolk families.
Beneficiaries received 2,700 fingerlings per floating fish cage. Operation of these are under the supervision of the BFAR provincial office.
Last month, this city also distributed gillnets and outrigger sets from its coastal resource management fund.
