2,000 indigent senior citizens receive social pension in Negros


BACOLOD CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has released  cash assistance from their social pension program to 2,159 indigent senior citizens in E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental last week.

The beneficiaries from  the 23 barangays in the town received P3,000 each, representing their semestral stipend for January to June.

The simultaneous payouts were held at 18 centers, including the public plaza, and 17 clustered barangays.

Meanwhile, a total of 78 indigent senior citizens, four solo parents, and five CICL (Children in Conflict with the Law) in the town also received financial assistance from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) at the public plaza on May 5.

The senior citizens received P3,000 each, while solo parents got P5,000 each, and CICL were given P5,000 each.
