The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) conducted the first leg of the 2023 Pre-SONA (State of the Nation Address) caravan of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. in Las Piñas City on Wednesday, May 10.

PIA’s pre-SONA caravan “Nagkaka 1sang Bumangon: The 2023 Pre-SONA Caravan” held at the Verdant Covered Court in Barangay Pamplona, was attended by Vice Mayor April Aguilar, City Administrator Reynadlo Balagulan, Public Information Office (PIO) Chief Paul San Miguel and other city hall officials. A video message of Mayor Imelda Aguilar was shown during the activity. She thanked the PIA and gave assurance that the city government, under her administration, is working hard to look after the welfare of its residents. According to the Las Piñas PIO, various booths were set up by different government agencies like the Department of Health (DOH), National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Commission on Population and Development (PopCom), and the Philippine Cancer Society (PCS) during the activity. The government agencies extended their services and advised residents on the importance of health, security, and social welfare development. The DOH's booth provided free medical check-ups and consultations, as well as vaccinations to children aged zero to 59 months old against polio, measles, and rubella. PhilHealth representatives assisted the attendees in processing their health insurance claims while the PCS booth provided cancer prevention and awareness information. The police participants from the NCRPO offered safety tips and distributed materials on crime prevention. The NCRPO also helped in the medical mission conducted during the event. Present were PIA Director General Ramon Cualoping III, Metro Manila Center for Health Development Regional Director Aleli Sudiacal, Commission on Population and Development NCR Acting Regional Director Jackilyn Robel, DSWD Spokesperson Romel Lopez, PIA Regional Director Emver Cortez, and DOH Regional Director Dr. Gloria Balboa.
