Pasig LGU opens nominations for 'Gawad Parangal sa mga Natatanging Pasigueño'
Citizens of Pasig City can now nominate their fellow Pasigueños who have greatly contributed to the city’s history, culture, society, and development for the “Gawad Parangal sa Natatanging Pasigueño” award.
The local government opened the nomination period on Tuesday, May 9, until 11:59 p.m. of June 20.
The Gawad Parangal is an award conferred by the Pasig City government to recognize the “lives and achievements of accomplished Pasigueños in various fields, while they are still alive, in the hope that they may inspire younger generations,” according to the city’s Public Information Office (PIO).
Exemplary individuals from the fields of business, economics, and entrepreneurship; civic involvement or volunteerism; law; medicine and health; public service or governance; science and technology; sports and sports development; youth leadership; education and the academe; environmental protection, architecture, literature, writing, music, dance, sculpture, theatre and dramatic arts; and film and television can be nominated by the public.
The nominated individuals must pass the minimum qualifications set by the local government – a Pasig resident for the last five years, has shown outstanding contributions in their field or category, and has not previously been honored with the award for the same field or category in past ceremonies.
Non-residents who are native-born Pasigueños or have lived in Pasig for at least five years are also eligible for nomination.
Self-nominations and nominees who are related to incumbent local government officials “up to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity” are not allowed, stressed the PIO.
Only Pasigueño individuals and groups are allowed to nominate people for the award.
Those who wish to participate in the activity must send an accomplished nomination form, which can be accessed through this link ([bit.ly/GPNP\_NominationForm](http://bit.ly/GPNP_NominationForm)), as well as other supporting documents including media documentation of the nominee’s works, awards from third parties, and testimonies from verifiable sources that can be reached by the Selection Committee.
For on-line submissions, the documents must be scanned or sent in PDF form to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).
For on-site submissions, documents must be placed in an envelope and addressed to the proper office using the following format:
THE SECRETARIAT, Gawad Parangal sa mga Natatanging Pasigueño
℅ Office of the City Mayor
