OVP satellite office in Dagupan disburses P28-M aid to 3,958 individuals

DAGUPAN CITY – The Office of the Vice President (OVP) satellite office here has served 3,958 individuals from Region 1 (Ilocos) and disbursed  medical and burial assistance totaling P28 million since it opened on July 1, 2022, the first day of Vice President Sara Duterte's six-year term.

Photo courtesy of Leah Ji Eun Reynold Munsayac, spokesman of Vice President Duterte, said this office has made the OVP more accessible to the people. “Dati centralized lang sa Manila, pero ngayon accessible na sa mga tao dahil may mga satellite offices na (The OVP is more accessible to the people now because of these satellite offices unlike before when everything is centralized in Manila),” Munsayac said during a visit to the office on Wednesday, May 10.
Munsayac said the OVP provides medical assistance to poor, marginalized, vulnerable, and disadvantaged individuals through guarantee letters. People may apply once every six months and must submit complete and correct documentary requirements. Applicants are approved within the day as long as their documents are complete, Munsayac said.
Munsayac said this office is part of the Vice President’s earnest efforts to make sure the OVP is closer to the people. The manager of this office which serves about 70 individuals daily is former Dagupan City Mayor Marc Brian C. Lim.
