It seems that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has struck a chord with fellow Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) leaders in Indonesia.

Marcos wrapped the first day of his visit to Labuan Bajo in the company of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos with other First Couples aboard Pinisi ship.
“For a little while after a productive day, we shifted away from discussions on affairs of state and renewed our friendships with fellow ASEAN leaders,” he said in a social media post on Wednesday, May 10.
The President shared photos of them before they set sail with Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo hosting the cruise.
“What a wonderful break,” Marcos exclaimed.

In a separate post, the First Lady treated her social media followers to a glimpse of their cruise in the seas off Bidadari Island. She was seen riding the boat with Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, who was accompanied by Prince 'Abdul Mateen.
“Sunset pairings,” she said on Instagram, accompanied by sunglasses emojis.
President Jokowi and his wife took the center deck seats by the main mast of the boat. Seated around the table were Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and spouse, the Marcoses, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and Timor-Leste Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak with their spouses.
Also joining the cruise were Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Don Don Pramudwinai, Prime Minister of Laos Sonexay Siphandone with spouse, Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh, and Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen.
Marcos and the other heads of state took a brief break from the 42nd ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings, where they discussed economic recovery, climate change, food security, and other issues facing the region.
Widodo also hosted a banquet dinner for ASEAN leaders at Ayana Komodo Waecicu Beach after the sunset viewing.
ASEAN member states include Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
