Grade 11 student caught with marijuana in Negros school

BACOLOD CITY â€“ A Grade 11 student was arrested after he was caught with dried marijuana leaves inside his classroom at Rafael B. Lacson Memorial High School in Barangay 12, Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, May 10.

Police Capt. Abegael Donasco, deputy chief of Talisay City Police Station, said the school conducted its routine inspection on students, when a teacher recovered the illegal drugs hidden in a pad paper from the 18-year-old suspect. An improvised pipe was also recovered from him, according to the police. Donasco said the student was subjected to medical examination, and will undergo further investigation. Last month, a 21-year-old student was also caught with a hand grenade, suspected marijuana worth P120, and a tooter in the same school, following a misunderstanding with a pedicab driver. Donasco said they have met with the school's officials and barangay captain to discuss some measures that could prevent the same from happening.
