24 arrested in Bulacan in series of anti-crime operations


The Bulacan police apprehended 14 wanted persons, nine drug suspects, and an illegal logger on Wednesday, May 10. 

In reports submitted to Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, one of the wanted persons nabbed was identified as Kiven John Asis. 

He was tagged as the No. 9 Most Wanted Person (MWP) in Region 6, No. 8 MWP in Iloilo Province, and the No. 1 MWP in the municipal level in Passi City, as per the Philippine National Police (PNP) E-Warrant System. 

He was apprehended in Brgy. Minuyan, City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM), Bulacan, during a successful Oplan “Pagtugis” executed by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Bulacan Provincial Field Unit, Passi City, Iloilo police, and Batan police in Aklan-Police provincial office.

Asis is facing three counts of rape by carnal knowledge which led to the issuance of arrest warrants by the Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 27, Iloilo City.
 
Similarly, the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) Bulacan and Sta. Maria police conducted pursuit operations to capture wanted felons, which led to the arrest of two individuals identified as Ron Daniel Laguerta who is wanted for rape, and Bernard Vibal, for the crime of robbery.

Moreover, operatives from the stations of Marilao, CSJDM, Meycauayan City, San Ildefonso, Pulilan, Sta. Maria, Norzagaray, Guiguinto, and 2nd PMFC apprehended 11 more felons who were wanted for various offenses. 

The apprehension was carried out after the court issued warrants of arrest against them.

Meanwhile, the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of San Miguel, Marilao, Pulilan, CSJDM, and Malolos City police carried out a series of drug sting operations that resulted in the arrest of nine drug suspects. 

The operation also led to the confiscation of 21 sachets of suspected shabu and marked money.

Furthermore, a joint anti-illegal logging operation was conducted by Dona Remedios Trinidad (DRT) police and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Cenro Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) Bulacan in Sitio Balikiran, Brgy. Kabayunan, DRT, Bulacan resulted in the arrest of Arnold Andes, 43, construction worker, caught in the possession of illegally cut timber without necessary documents.

One hundred four (104) pieces of timber wood were confiscated from the suspect, with an estimated market value of P80,600. 

Andes is now under the custody of DRT municipal police station, while the recovered evidence was turned over to DENR-CENRO.
