TNT & Smart group lead PH mobile brands

TNT is the Philippines’ leading mobile brand while Smart Communications, Inc. is the leading mobile group in terms of number of subscribers, according to a recent internal study which Smart conducted in partnership with market research firm NielsenIQ.

The nationwide study ran from Jan 5 to April 3, 2023 and polled 1,175 Filipinos aged 18 to 60 years old who use and personally own any mobile SIM.

It has a sample size of 329 respondents in Mega Manila, 438 in Luzon, 194 in Visayas and 214 in Mindanao.

The study took into account both single and multiple SIMs respondent users of mobile brands and asked about their mobile service providers.

Overall, 46 percent of respondents claimed to own and currently use a TNT mobile SIM.

Furthermore, 14 percent of respondents claimed to own and use Smart Prepaid, while 1 percent have Sun Prepaid.

The study maintained that Smart is the Philippines’ leading mobile group in terms of number of subscribers, with a combined 59 percent of respondents claiming to use its brands, which include TNT, Smart Prepaid and Sun Prepaid.

By region, TNT leads mobile brands in terms of claimed users across all surveyed areas except in Mindanao.

TNT leads in the Visayas with 60 percent of the surveyed respondents claiming to own and use a TNT mobile SIM.

TNT SIM users in Luzon account for 46 percent while Mega Manila area (Metro Manila Area + Rizal + Palawan) account for 39 percent.

On the other hand, TM leads in Mindanao with 54 percent claimed SIM users, followed by TNT with 41 percent claimed SIM users.
