Three men were nabbed by the Makati City Police for various offenses on Tuesday, May 9, along the Makati-Mandaluyong Bridge in Brgy. Poblacion, Makati City.
The three suspects were identified as Rolando Lopez, Reynaldo Sabio, and Robert James, a British.
According to the police, the Poblacion Substation was conducting a mobile patrol operation when they flagged down Lopez and Sabio for riding a motorcycle without a license plate. The two tried to escape from the police on foot and a chase ensued.
Not far from the scene, James suddenly intervened and intentionally blocked the police officers chasing the two suspects, leading to his arrest. Lopez and Sabio were also collared by the chasing operatives.
Upon frisking, the police recovered P170,680 worth of shabu from the suspects.
According to the police, the three suspects are now facing charges of Violation of Sec. 7 of RA 11235 (Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act.) Sec. 11 of Art II of RA 9165, Art 151 (Resistance and Disobedience to the agents of person in authority) and PD 1829 (Obstruction of Justice).
