Teacher shot dead in Cagayan

ALCALA, Cagayan – A teacher on board a motor banca was shot dead by a lone gunman here on Monday, May 8. Police identified the victim as “Nicanor,” a teacher of the Caralangan Elementary School. Police Major George Maribbay, Alcala police chief, said the victim was on the motor banca waiting for his co-teachers going home when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect asked the victim if he was "Nick" and was shot in the head when he answered that he was. The victim died on the spot from six bullet wounds. The gunman escaped with a cohort onboard a motorcycle. Police are now investigating a person of interest in the killing.
