A public safety building that will house most of the city government's offices and departments affiliated with public safety services will soon open along Fortune Avenue in Barangay Fortune, Marikina City.
Marikina City Mayor Marcelino "Marcy" Teodoro conducted on Tuesday, May 9, a site inspection with officials from the local police and peace and security offices.

Teodoro inspected each floor to ensure the structural integrity of the building, assess the quality of its interior and exterior design, according to the plans made by the city government's architects.
The seven-storey building will be the future headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) - Marikina and the Office of Public Safety and Security (OPSS).
Aside from multiple function rooms and vacant office spaces, the new building will also feature a multi-purpose roof deck.

It is situated in a lot near the Marikina City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO).
The location of the lot was noted by the city government as flood-free which makes it accessible and functional in times of natural calamities or other emergencies.

In line with this, the Marikina City government has also partnered with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to build a typhoon response facility in the city.
This project will be funded by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) via the United Project Management Office - Flood Control Management Cluster, said the PCG.
