CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office-13 arrested 17 individuals wanted by the law in a day-long relentless operation in different places in the five provinces and six cities in Northeastern Mindanao or the Caraga region on Tuesday, May 9.
Based on the records from the PRO-13 Regional Operations Division (ROD), the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO) and Surigao del Norte PPO arrested four wanted persons each, Butuan City Police Office with three, while the Agusan del Sur PPO, Surigao del Sur PPO, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB)-13 nabbed two wanted persons each.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II told the Manila Bulletin on Wednesday afternoon, May 10, that one of the arrested individuals was a New People’s Army member.
The arrest of this NPA rebel was carried out by the Bayugan City Police Station in Barangay Poblacion, Bayugan City, based on a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 7, Bayugan City for multiple attempted murder with a recommended bail bond of P120,000.
Initial investigation conducted by the Bayugan police station said that the suspect was one of the members of NPA in the Barrio under dismantled Guerrilla Front 8, Sub-Regional Committee of the CPP-NPA Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NMRC) whom the Philippine Army encountered on March 9, 2021, in Barangay Mount Carmel, Bayugan City.

“We assure the people that we are working 24/7 to keep them safe and protected,” Labra added.
