The Parañaque City government launched the "Barangay Zumba Choreo Dance Contest" to promote a healthy body and lifestyle.
According to Mayor Eric Olivarez, the dance contest is open to individuals 18 years old and above, with 10 maximum members per group.
Olivarez said the performance must be three minutes long and should not exceed five minutes.
He said participating groups can choose their own music, costumes, and props.
The mayor encouraged the participating groups to set up their videos in schools or in the barangay to highlight their own areas.
Olivarez said the deadline for the submission of the dance video by the participating groups will be on May 15. All entries must be submitted to pquehepo@gmail.com with hashtags #Healthy Barangay Zumba, #Healthy Pilipinas and tag the barangay's official FB page and @DOHhealthypilipinas.
He said the videos will be posted on the Facebook page of the City Health Office - Health Education & Promotion Unit from May 16 to 31.
Olivarez said the top three videos with the most number of likes and shares to be counted on May 31 will be invited on June 5 for the final round of Barangay Zumba Choreo Dance Contest during the launch of city-wide activity “Tayo ay Sasayaw para sa Healthy Pilipinas (We will dance for a healthy Philippines) .
