Marcos beams with Filipino pride after Bustamante's first F1 Academy win

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. congratulated Filipino rising star Bianca Bustamante, paying tribute to the teen racer for successfully carrying the country’s colors to the world of motorsport.

In a Twitter post on Wednesday, May 10, Marcos expressed pride in Bustamante after giving honor to the Philippine flag.
The 18-year-old Bustamante won her first title in the Formula 1 Academy race held in Valencia, Spain on Sunday, May 7 (Manila time).
She made history as the first Filipina driver to ever win an F1 Academy title after topping the race at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
“We are filled with pride upon hearing the Philippine national anthem played on the F1 stage for the very first time!,” Marcos wrote.
The President said Bustamante must “continue to break barriers and inspire young women around the world.”
Marcos sent his greetings to the young Filipino racer while he is in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia for the 42nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.
