Man hacked to death by friend in Negros for coveting latter's wife

BACOLOD CITY – A man was hacked to death by his friend allegedly due to his hidden desire on the latter’s wife in Barangay San Isidro, Toboso, Negros Occidental.

The remains of Marvin Encarquez were found in Sitio Mansulao, Barangay San Isidro on Monday, May 8, a day after the incident. Police Major Jun Ray Batadlan, Toboso police chief, said the victim and his friend had a drinking session somewhere on Sunday night, after which the victim sent his friend home. However, the victim went back to the suspect's house, as he was allegedly interested in the latter’s wife. A heated argument then ensued between them, until the suspect allegedly chased and hacked the victim. The suspect then fled and is still at large, said Batadlan.
