EXO's Kai cuts his hair short for military service

“I like it more than I thought. My hair feels so good,” he wrote.  On May 11, Kai will be entering the Army Training Center, receive basic military training, and then perform alternative service as a social worker. Kai held a fan meeting on May 9 and revealed that “it was even more disappointing because I was preparing for a solo concert in August. I shed tears because of the passion and effort that I prepared so hard for.” “For a little over a year, I’ll be thinking of you guys, studying what kind of cool look I’ll appear in, what kind of time I should spend, practicing hard, and fulfilling my military duty, so please wait for me,” he added.  Last May 3, SM Entertainment, EXO’s agency, suddenly announced that Kai would enlist in the military amid preparations for EXO’s comeback.  “Kai was preparing for EXO's comeback scheduled for this year but due to a recent change in the Military Manpower Administration rules, he will enter the Army Training Center on May 11 and receive basic military training before serving in the alternative service as a social service worker,” it said.  It added, “In respect of Kai's intention to quietly enlist on the same day, the location and time of his enlistment will not be disclosed, and we ask for the understanding of fans as no separate event will be held on the same day. We will inform you about the upcoming EXO album as soon as it is sorted out.” Among EXO, Xiumin, D.O, Suho, Chen, Baekhyun and Chanyeol have finished their military service. Kai and Sehun are the only ones who have not enlisted in the military.  Kai will finish his military service on Feb. 10, 2025.
