Businessman accidentally shoots, kills pal during drinking spree in Quezon

SAN ANTONIO, Quezon – A 55-year-old businessman accidentally shot and killed his friend during a drinking spree in Barangay Callejon, here, on Tuesday afternoon, May 9. Police identified the suspect as Edilberto Iloso. Investigation said Iloso was having a drinking session with the victim, Isidro Alphie Ipunla, 39, and two others at around 4:20 p.m., when he accidentally discharged his firearm and hit Ipunla in the chest. Ipunla was taken to the Rosales Hospital in Padre Garcia, Batangas where he was declared dead. The suspect escaped and is the subject of a manhunt operation. A homicide charge is being prepared against Iloso.
